People are lazy- it's human nature I suppose. I normally try to employ good spelling techniques in my writing, but not everyone does so. If I don't know how to spell something, I either look it up or else rely on the spell check mechanism. Another thing is that often, people are in a big hurry these days. Maybe they think that using spell check is a waste of time. Curious.

Because sometimes it doesn't recognise certain words and other words are spelled differently in different countries.
Also, the younger generation are so used to spelling on a mobile phone that many words are abbreviated, so they don't actually bother to learn the correct spelling of each individual word!
I hate smelling pistakes at the best of times, but I very rarely use the spell check thingy........ I prefer my English dictionary if I am unsure on a word.

I think most folks don't care.
But also, because English is so strange. It's hard to get a handle on all its rules.
For example, take the words pail and pale. They sound alike, but they're spelled differently. If you used the sentence, "I used a pale to carry the water," it would sound right but be written incorrectly.
The same is true with other words, like fiance and fiancee, road and rode, and heir and air.
English has other strange qualities. The past tense of "read" is "read." The two are spelled the same, but one is pronounced like "reed" and the other like "red."
Also, some words have multiple spellings, like opossum and possum, kindergartener and kindergartner, and DJ and deejay.
It's a nutty language, but I like it anyway.

Haha! I know, it's almost as if most of the population skipped a couple grades in elementary school. It is really depressing to think how it would be if we didn't have spell check.

becaze pepole r 2 lazy 2 actuly us it.
Haha - It seems especially bad in the education categories. I love it when people who are supposedly applying to college, misspell every other word. Well - good luck getting in!

Peeple are lazee and jist dont kare.
I am continually surprised at how illiterate people allow themselves to be seen by the general public. If everyone was required to use their real name, I wonder if the results would be different.

I agree but would still like to see some questions badly written as it provides me with the ammunition to answer them in a fun way.
