How do I dispose of steak knives?

My wife wants to throw away some steak knives, but it doesn't seem like you should just toss them in the trash. Is there a way you are supposed to properly dispose of sharp objects?

You could donate them to a thrift store. Either way, if you are concerned someone will get cut, just fold and tape a piece of cardboard or heavy paper over the blade that will cover the blade and extend past the tip by an inch or two.

I would put them in a box and toss them or wrap them in rags before putting in the trash.

If they're still usable - why not give them to a second hand store or a charity store then it'll solve your problem and give someone a cheap set of steak knives

I'd just place one steak knife (they are fairly small ?) .. about 1/2 way down in the bag of garbage as you are filling it up. It is doubtful that anyone would get hurt by it. Do that for every knife that you throw out .. one per garbage bag. If you are really worried about it .. go out to your bag yard and bury them deep in the ground. Good Luck ! :)

If the knives are still in decent shape - consider having them sharpened & donating them to Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc.

Wrap them up in newspaper and donate them to the ARC. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry unless people are going through your trash and might get cut.

Bundle them all together and just wrap them up in duct tape. You should have plenty left over since nothing happened in 2000. :-)

    Or....

You can donate them to Goodwill, where someone can use them and hopefully sharpen if needed. Or donate them to your local metal/plastic/wood recycling center.

Why not bake them into a cake and have a fun challenging little game to see if you can sneak them past the guards and deliver it to an inmate in a prison?

Put them in a cake and send it to a prisoner. They would really like that!

    just Kiddin

Put them in a used milk carton or something and throw them away.

Put them in a shoe box before putting them in the trash... Or a cardboard box.
