Publius, Sergius, Camillus, Marius, Gaius, Octavius, Candidus, Lucius, Emilianus.

All these can be feminised by removal of the "us" and substitution of "a".

    Claudius as a noble name

You talking like names of people?

Like Cesar Augustus was an emperor so I guess that is regal enough common names for people that lived in Rome could be Octavius, Brutus, Antony

look at Shakespeare plays or search Roman generals,

I hope you mean Latin and not Spanish because it seems like a lot of people who answered can't tell the difference. I'm a Latin student and we just recently learned some early Roman History. Here are some of the fun names:

    Anchises (m.)

    Aeneus (m.)

    Creusa (f.)

    Ascanius (m.)

    Procas (m.)

    Amulius (m.)

    Numitor (m.)

    Rhea Silvia (f.)

    Romulus (m.)*

    Remus (m.)

    Faustulus (m.)

    Larentia (f.)

    Numa Pompilius (m.)*

    Egeria (f.)

    Tullus Hostilius (m.)*

Mettius Fufetius (m.) <a very fun name to say>

    Ancus Marcius (m.)*

    Lucumo (m.)

    Tanaquil (f.)

    Tarquin (Lucumo from above) (m.)*

    Servius Tullius*

    Lucius (m.)

    Arruns (m.)

    Tullia (f.)

Tarquinius Superbus (Tarquin the Proud) (Lucius from above) (m.)*

    Sextus (m.)

    Lucretia (f.)

There is a lot of history behind most of these names, but I won't bore you with the details. The names that have asteriscks (*) next to them are the seven kings of Rome when it was a monarchy.

Usually, true Roman citizens had three names. For example, Lucius Caecilius Iucundus. Lucius was his personal name, like a modern first name. His second name, Caecilius, shows that he was a member of the "clan" of the Caecilii. Clans or groups of families were very important and strong feelings of loyalty existed within them. His third name, Iucundus, is the name of his own family and close relatives. Only Roman citizens would have three names. A slave would have just one like Clemens or something.

Hope this helps somewhat. I would also encourage you, if you would be interested, to learn about some of these names. The early history of Rome is quite fascinating. In Livy's telling of it, some Roman myth is intwind with the history and actually quite dramatic.
