When someone smiles at you who you don't know does it make you creeped out, suspicious or do you just think...

"Wow that person is really friendly."

I would be pleasantly surprised if a stranger smiles at me.My reaction would be to smile back or even go and shake the persons hand cause theres very little of that going around in this stuck up and skeptical global society we live in.

The world would become such a wonderful place if everyone greeted each other with a smile irrespective of creed ,colour or familiarity.

If they smile at me I smile back and nod. What's the harm? We could use a friendlier, kinder world. Then I keep aware of my surroundings if I am not around other people...

I do hate, however, a big production being made of a door being held open for me unless my hands are full and I obviously need a hand. I am capable, thank you. However, I still smile and say thanks even if I do think the ritual is outdated and more than a little annoying. The intent is good.

FRIENDLY - I frankly would like to see people actually look me in the eye, and it would be a bonus if they smiled. There was a time when I would always look at the ground or not make eye contact with people that was when I really hated myself. But now, I think I'm kinda neat and I walk with my head up and make eye contact and even say hello. To heck with with people who think I'm weird!! Try it sometime.

I just assume that person is friendly. We would have a lot better world if more people would smile and greet one another when they meet, instead of acting like a bunch of stuck up snobs living in our own little worlds.

None of the above. Just some people smile a lot. Makes a good impression to others.

Well, if it's someone holding a gun, I get alittle ansy, but if not then they're probably just being friendly and this world could sure use more of that, so I'll smile back.

i try to be friendly and smile back andi sometimes have second thoughts about what are they doing behind your back, checking you out or still walking to the place they need to go. So it depends on the person, old or young.

Most of the time it's from a intelligent, well rounded person. In the ghetto you ain't getting nobodies smile. And you may not want one.

What an amazing question. Can I take a shot in the dark, and guess you are American, and live in a large city? Where I live, it is known as good manners to smile and say good morning to people.

I think that person's really friendly because I try not to be parinoid about what might happen in the future.
