Allergies do not cause green snot. I have allergies and have never had that. Only an infection of some sort can be the culprit and glad you are seeing doc.

No, usually allergies will only cause clear drainage. I would take him to the doctor if at all possible. If you can't, keep doing some research on the net. There is a lot of good advise and tells you what kind of medicine is best. Usually meds don't really cure for stuff like this, but helps us deal with the problems.
