Can I attach a second monitor to the unused VGA port?

My video card has both a DVI and a VGA port. My monitor's connected through DVI. Can I add a second monitor to the unused VGA port and will Windows XP recognise it as a second monitor?

Update:

It did work, you're right. 10 points for you!

Absolutely, xp will automatically recognize the 2nd monitor and set it up. I have a monitor on my DVI port and a projector on my VGA, it works like a charm. Once you installed the monitor and turn the PC, go to the display properties, go to settings and will see the 2 monitors there and you can change settings for ea of the monitors.

    Enjoy !
