Since when is a Libertarian on any side?
As a Libertarian both in party and lifestyle, why is it that so hard to understand? Last time I checked the right to swing my fist ended at my neighbors nose... Does it not?

Libertarians do not have a cut and dry agenda of what issues they are for and which they are against (abortion, legalized drugs, gay rights, etc). The Libertarian party doesn't believe that any of these "issues" should be issues at all - they don't see where these social differences fit into the Federal governments duties to govern. They see people as individuals. As an individual, you have the right to be pro-life, anti-drug, and pro gay marriage; but you do not have the right to force your moral opinions on those who do not see the world the same way as you.
Because there is not always a Libertarian candidate in every race, Libertarians tend to sway towards the party that more closely compliments their views (whether Conservative or Liberal).

The problem you guys have is, shouldn't there be an accepted set of morals we live by in this country?
I mean, if your neighbor kidnaps a teenager, and you know about it, what do you do? If you do nothing, what does that say about you? If you turn him in, haven't you therefore impinged upon his "liberties"?
Suppose the same neighbor you reference doesn't agree and swings hit fist and connects and feels totally justified in doing so?
I agree there are certain aspects of our lives that government needs to abstain from participating. However, the "anything goes" attitude would lead to anarchy, taken to its logical conclusion.

it is not that simple. there are questions which are not easily answered. like some libertarians are against regulation, yet shouldn't a business's right to pollute end when it affects another person? there are any number of questions that different libertarians find different answers for.

True enough! Although, as a Libertarian, I declare my side as being right for me, and your side as being right for you. These other silly people just can't grasp how freeing it can really be to embrace ALL of the freedoms we are assured.

No it doesn't. You do not have the right to intimidate or swing on anybody.
Libertarians are ultraconservatives. So you are closest to conservatives in either party. Since Republicans have more of these, you are generally a Republican if you must make a choice.
