Dems, Cons, & Independents....can we agree on 1 subject?

Free our 2 imprisoned Border Patrol Agents! This is a grave injustice!

This illegal, drug smuggling, criminal alien should stand trial for his crime against our men/country! This criminal piece of garbage is planning to sue our government for civil rights violations...

I sent my letter demanding the immunity be removed, and signed a petition to grant the pardon. I have also forwarded the petition to friends/family, and some of our men over seas who have no idea what has happened to the 2 agents. They have signed and passed it on to their fellow comrades....

Also, as of yesterday, 70+ congressmen have joined to have the pardon granted. These men have an awful lot of people on their side: 275000+. Justice has to be done somewhere. It will get done! They will be set free!

I'm asking you to join with me by clicking here for the full story and the petition: http://www.grassfire.org/142/petition.asp?PID=1240... Thanks

Hell yeah! Illegals shouldn't be able to sue in american courts. They have already broken the law, not once, but twice!

This is a story that has been totally perverted by the anti-illegal immigration crowd. I'm a fairly independent Democrat, and I would support cracking down on illegal immigration (especially those that knowingly employ the illegals), but this story is totally bogus.

These border agents fired on a man without cause - plain and simple. He did not brandish a fire arm, he did not fire on them, all he did was flee. Law enforcement can't just shoot people because they are running away - this isn't the 1850's. So, the agents were totally unjustified in firing their weapons at all. They obviously knew this as they tried to cover up the fact that they had used their guns. This is the biggest indication to me that they were in the wrong.

The guy was a drug smuggler and deserves to go to jail - but it is our own idiotic drug laws that cause the smuggling in the first place.

The fact that these border agents were sent to prison for so long (I don't think they deserved to go to prison at all) is because of the idiotic manditory minimum sentences that were promoted by the exact same people that are whining about the "unfair sentences" the agents were given.

As for what I think should happen - the smuggler should pay a fine for smuggling and be deported to Mexico (his lawsuit should be thrown out of court). The agents deserved to be suspended without pay for something like a week to a month - nothing more.

This issue exposes several severe problems with the American justice system - unfortunately none of the real issues are being discussed (drug policy, manditory sentencing, over zealous law enforcement).

I don't believe the agents had bad intentions, and they don't deserve to go to prison - but the people complaining about this the most are the ones that caused this mess in the first place.

I even ought to agree. The Clinton's are through a concepts the most experienced and politically savvy crew the Democrats have ever had in workplace. Now they have a threat to deliver them lower back to the Whitehouse with all of their journey, and the Dems are pushing them off a cliff. only remarkable. The stupidity of liberals under no circumstances ceases to amaze me.

This is one liberal who is already ahead of you. I fully support the pardon. Only one aside to this, had these guys been police officers who had done the same thing they probably would not have gone to prison. However, for violating pursuit regulations, discharging their firearms multiple times against regulations, and failing to report the incident (including the discharge of firearms) they would have almost certainly been terminated.

    Sure I will sign it.

    by the way

It is a conservative republican president who will not hear anything about the pardon. These border patrol agents were convicted in Texas where they not? Isn't Texas pretty conservative.

Upon first hearing of this I was as outraged as you are, but upon hearing more details (it was on a conservative radio show so I doubted they were making it up) it was said that the agents in question shot the illegal in the back while he was fleeing, that he was unarmed and that drugs were the only crime, and that they falsefied their report and "cleaned up" the scene by collecting their shell casings, etc. If that is all true I am afraid they should be prosecuted.

    Hallelujah!

  • I would hope so. I'm not affiliated with either party, and I signed the petition.

Yeah I could vomit over this story. Utter gross injustice. Almost treasonous that these men are going through this.
