Can I reactivate Vista after upgrading something major like a motherboard?

I have my computer almost where I want it however I want a motherboard that won't be out for a few weeks yet. If I install Vista when I get it in a few days will I have problems reactivating it, if I upgrade my motherboard. Please don't post about system requirements or I will make fun of you, thats not what I'm asking.

ya u can but u have to lie ;)

if u re-install your copy then before activate you will get a installition ID with 54 Numeric No then just call Microsoft Support Section & tell them that when u reinstalled your Vista copy then u got Error like this "Product ID is allready Used then make"

& now its showing a Installed ID ..

then u will get a net Product id from them :D

    best of luck

Yes. Even if you replace your hard drive, you might have to call microsoft tech support if it doesn't accept the license number. They will give you a new one to enter and that should take care of it.

    Not a problem.

All information about your operating system are stored on your hard drive as long as you not play with, you reconfigure system your way.
