Global Warming? Man-made or Not?

What about the real evidence ignored by the pop-culture media and politicos. Also has anyone read "Global warming was caused by aliens" a speech by Michael Crichton

We are still recovering from the last Ice Age. In it's warm cycles, the earth is 3% covered in ice. We sit at 10%. What do you think???

A study in historical geology should be required for all people who study climate. The earth changes. The law of life is, "adapt or die".

The cause an effect are alot more complex then just human pollution. Mother earth is part of a wider solar system, in which external Solar cycles have a large influence on weather patterns

Our sun, a variable star, is a major and controlling influence on the extent and rate of long- and short-term climate changes affecting Earth.

The Sun sets the level of carbon dioxide in the Earth's atmosphere by the cumulative effect of variations in the galactic cosmic rays reaching the Earth, as modulated by the variable solar wind. Fluctuations in solar flares has a profound effect on weather patterns on earth. In addition, there alot more lethal compounds then CO2 which cause more harm to our atmosphere. Methane for example is 21 times more lethal then CO2, yet the hysteria centers around large levels of CO2, allegedly from SUV exhaust which is utterly ridiculous..

Obviously there will always be a better cleaner way to create the energy we need to live our lives. Its important to embrace those new ideas, however we should also not demonize the way things are done now based on computer model assumptions which still can't can't predict weather on a day to day basis, let alone 50-100 years out in time.

    What causes global warming?

Carbon dioxide and other air pollution that is collecting in the atmosphere like a thickening blanket, trapping the sun's heat and causing the planet to warm up. Coal-burning power plants are the largest U.S. source of carbon dioxide pollution -- they produce 2.5 billion tons every year. Automobiles, the second largest source, create nearly 1.5 billion tons of CO2 annually.

Here's the good news: technologies exist today to make cars that run cleaner and burn less gas, modernize power plants and generate electricity from nonpolluting sources, and cut our electricity use through energy efficiency. The challenge is to be sure these solutions are put to use.

What country is the largest source of global warming pollution?

The United States. Though Americans make up just 4 percent of the world's population, we produce 25 percent of the carbon dioxide pollution from fossil-fuel burning -- by far the largest share of any country. In fact, the United States emits more carbon dioxide than China, India and Japan, combined. Clearly America ought to take a leadership role in solving the problem. And as the world's top developer of new technologies, we are well positioned to do so -- we already have the know-how.

How can we cut global warming pollution?

It's simple: By reducing pollution from vehicles and power plants. Right away, we should put existing technologies for building cleaner cars and more modern electricity generators into widespread use. We can increase our reliance on renewable energy sources such as wind, sun and geothermal. And we can manufacture more efficient appliances and conserve energy.

First, the ozone layer isn't a huge difficulty anymore, CFC's are the only chemical that damages it, CO2 and all the different greenhouse gasses do no longer result it, and because CFC's are actually banned in aerosols and emissions of them are intently controlled, the emissions of CFCs are actually longer a huge difficulty. besides there's a hell of assorted info that mankind is a contributor to the upward push in CO2 from the better burning of hydrocarbons, there is likewise a hyperlink between CO2 emissions and worldwide temperature, ( as one is going up the different does) Now this might nicely be accident that the planet has in basic terms began warming critically because of the fact the commercial revolution and those developments seen are no longer something greater beneficial than accident, yet judging from the history of the earth i might say that is unlikely.

Global Warming is a natural process, although Umans are a primary cause for this, it doesn't mean that Humans actually make it happen.

So, in a way... Global Warming is the rise in temperature which is unwanted

It is obviously a natural phenomenon that humanity has greatly exacerbated. The current carbon levels are higher than at any point science has been able to study, and they can go back through the ages by testing air pockets trapped in ice caps. Only those who wish to reamain unaware can argue the point that we are making the problem worse.

The climate system varies both through natural, "internal" processes as well as in response to variations in external "forcing" from both human and non-human causes, including solar activity, volcanic emissions, variations in the earth's orbit ("orbital forcing") and greenhouse gases.

i was a skeptic but after seeing an inconvenient truth - a global warning ( a movie i was hesitant to see), i changed my mind. al gore proves all his points through research and facts and he does it in terms that anyone can understand. it's a scary world, but each one of us has the power to do something. at least see the movie, if nothing else.

    Not. It's a natural cycle.

not!! it a natural occurrence. don't forget we are at the end of an ice age.
