What is the sole purpose of sitting in a Sauna? What are the benefits and how long should you sit in the sauna?

    There are a lot of different reasons to sit in a sauna! Personally I like the stress release. I have been told not to sit in there for more than 30 minutes at a time with at least 15 minute break. before getting back in.

    You can actually lose weight by sitting in a sauna. I once lost 4 pounds sitting in a sauna for about 1 hour.

    The sauna is good for opening your pores and clearing them of any grease build up. It also helps to reduce lactic acid, which is what makes you feel sore after a workout.

    I believe people do it to sweat out toxins. I think you need to start out slow, maybe ten minutes. I cant stand the feeling myself. I feel light headed and like I am suffocating.
