What does Imbolc mean to you personally?
I'm not looking for Wiki-Kwiki queens & other copy-&-paste drive-by postings.
If you are a pagan, I want to know what significance Imbolc &/or Brighid have in your life.

MM - Imbolc is very special to me, as it is my daughter's birthday. Yes, she was created in the Great Rite of Beltaine. Imbolc is light. I also see it as a time to start planning my garden...both the physical and spiritual one's that I will plant this year. I pour over the seed catalogs, visualizing my garden to be. I meditate upon my life and visualize the spiritual harvest I wish for this year. Imbolc causes me to look forward to the coming warmth and harvest. I also burn the old Brighid's cross that hangs above my door and make a new one and bless it on Imbolc. I also burn any left over greens from Yule on Imbolc. Imbolc makes me realize that Lughnasadh will be here all too soon!
Brightest Blessings to you and yours! MP

I'm new to Wicca, and I'm still pretty green in this area, but here's what I get. Imbolc involves awakenings. It is the time to find the part of you that you've hidden away inside of you. That doesn't seem like much, but that's what it means to me.

Lying by omission is just as bad. But I will give you some authors that have helped me along my path. Konstantinos (you actually have to be drawn to the path he follows, he also states many times in his books, that his way is not the only way.) Laurie Cabot (Little biased towards her, met her, she used to babysit my cousins and all that, but she is a good author) Scott Cunningham (First Author I ever read, lots of good info) Ray Buckland (Good author, little on the, my way is the only way,but you have to sort through that.) Gary Cantrell (Just interesting the way he explains things) Kate West (Only have one of her books and it is mostly on how to make things int eh kitchen, really good book though) Avoid: Silver RavenWolf (She encourages lying to your parents and does not research well, she is also one of the ones that are like, it is my way or no way at all) D.J. Conway (Nutter, that is all I have to say about that)

It was a ceremony of giving thanks for the meat that they had in times past. I view Imbolc as a time of renewal, a time to renew affirmations, and a time of cleansing and restoration.
