Was the film Breakfast at Tiffany's filmed in black and white or color?

I remember watching the film in black and white but my room mate has it on DVD in color. Was it filmed in black and white in addition to in color?

Breakfast at Tiffany's was filmed in 1961. According to imdb.com it was filmed in Black and white. when they released it to Beta and VHS it was colorized and released in Color. Today it has been remastered from Black and White to Technicolor.

It was filmed and released in color. Technicolor, to be precise. The idea that it was in black and white is totally wrong. I've handles and shown prints of the film, and they were always in color. All rumors to the contrary are mistaken.

When the film was originally released in 1961, it was in black and white. In the 1970s, experimentation in colorization came about, prompting the release of the film to VHS in color for the first time in the 1980s. Controversy over colorization led to VHS releases in the original black and white. I have found the DVD in both.

It is never too late for black and white! It was common up until 1967, and Clerks (1994) was in black and white also.

Nope. It was originally in color, and beautiful Technicolor color at that. You probably remember seeing it on a black-and-white television.

It was never filmed in black-and-white. It was never colorized by computer or by hand. There were not two versions filmed. It was always color, and nothing but.

Lots of fims back then were fimed in black and white. Technicolor is a process that goes in and paints the color into the movie, frame by frame. It was done in The Wizard of Oz too.

It was filmed in color. Technicolor is a brand name of a color film process.

I saw it in color on a local TV station way back when, and it didn't have the phony color look to it like colorized films have.....

"Breakfast at Tiffany s" was filmed on Kodak 5250 50T negative film - which is a color film stock. It s possible that work prints (one lights) were struck in B/W, but it was filmed and released in color.

Honestly, I've only ever seen it in color. Perhaps you watched it on a black and white TV????
