What can we do to better support our troops?

Many of us write letters and lobby our congressmen/women - but what else should we do?

    1. Lobby your politicians to pass laws which would defer their auto, and home loans when they are in active duty.

    2. Make sure they receive their VA benefits, make all politician who vote against it accountable.

    3. Make sure they receive enough and affordable pay and pension.

    4. Make a pledge that supporting our troops is beyond a bumper sticker and political stance.

    5. Bring them back from poorly executed wars and not send them on poorly planned wars.

    6. Make your support for the troops beyond democrat or republican partisanship

    7. Make sure the government provides them with all the equipment and armor when in active battle.

(We are building a $5 million or so embassy but our soldiers don't have armor.)

    8. Think of new ways of improving their lives.

    9. We always thank them, smile and hug them when they come home.

Not sure what you mean by lobbying, but if you are aksing them to raise their pay then thats great. Most lower rank enlisted men and women, say from E-7 and below, with a family live at the National poverty level. How sad is that? What incentive is there to join? Why dowe spend $480 Billion a year in foreign aide but not pay our military?

Support the troops directly. The soldiers get much more out of a care package full of goodies than they do out of letters to congresspeople.

You can send cards to individual soldiers or units, as well as military hospitals. You can also send carepackages to individual soldiers and units. Or you can donate to one of the many organizations that provide services for our troops, such as the Fisher House foundation, for example.

Check out www.campdoha.org (click on "supporters") for lots of different ways to better support the troops.

Go to the following web site. You don't have to be a vet to or a biker. It cost nothing to join, no dues, no meetings. You just have to be willing to stand for those who have stood for us. Take a look at the 'sub-sites', the photos section, and once you become a member, you can see what other folks are saying/doing on the FORUM section. Pass the word!

Oh, and if you would like to see WHY the Patriot Guards exist, do a google.com search on WESTBORO BAPTIST CHURCH or FRED PHELPS or SHIRLEY PHELPS. These people go to the funerals of our military and scream THANK GOD FOR DEAD SOLDIERS, THANK GOD FOR IEDS, GOD HATES FAGS, AMERICA IS GOD'S ENEMY. The PGR protect the families and friends of our fallen heros from those hate mongers.

Also, if you know of someone coming home and would like to give them a BIG welcome, there is a place on the LEFT SIDE of the website where you can contact someone in your state to set up a WELCOME HOME MISSION...many bikers, flags, etc.

You can also check out my 360 page.

Most enlisted soldiers dont make good money, and many dont have family supporting them. My husband is in the army and when he receives things like this, it makes him feel good cause he knows the US hasnt forgotten!

Join the anti-war protests. In that way, they will be pulled-out of harm's way.

    Support what they are doing.

You cannot 'support the troops' if you are working to see that they fail.
