Why are male rape cases so easily brushed aside or ignored?

There was news on Yahoo that there was a male rape case being investigated, I did a quick search and it made me wonder, why are male rape cases usually brushed aside, ignored or put on lowest priority?

Are the criminals of such cases always men or are both possible?

There's a double standard for rape. If a man is raped he is even less likely to report it than a woman, and also less likely to be respected or believed. He is afraid he will be seen as a homosexual, or defeated, or both. There is an even higher stigma for male rape victims, and it is a problem that not only law enforcement must address, but society as a whole. One in ten men will be raped in their lifetime. For women, it's one in four.

i don't think that these cases are brushed aside or ignored, it's just that men don't come forward as much as women do regarding rape. Usually the criminals are men. Nowadays, you're seeing it a lot more in the news with all the priests being guilty of molestation.

definite, that's what takes position in Sharia regulation!. women quite everyone isn't believed except they have those 4 male witnesses, who've surely considered the shape. Even the position that's occurred that the 4 men have quite witnessed the rape, there have been modern-day situations in some international locations the position the lady has nevertheless been sentenced to be stoned, or lashed. it really is considered as by some potential her fault. In those sorts of communities, the conception of a lady being raped, even via no fault of her personal, is considered as so shameful that quite regularly her personal kin, brothers, father etc will kill her to 'shield the kin honour'. Honour killings have occurred even in international locations like the united kingdom and in Australia. it really is a tremendous situation in places like India, Pakistan and the middle East. There have also been situations the position women human beings were deliberately disfigured and mutilated by technique of their households in this kind of situation. that is why human beings like me say that they dislike islam. there is not any justification for this kind of behaviour in any civilised u . s .. I surely have not something adversarial to muslims, in line with se, certainly i have many muslim acquaintances and neighbours who're completely attractive human beings. that's the religion I dislike because it reveals procedures to excuse this kind of behaviour, and promotes the concept females quite everyone seems less than equivalent and ought to continuously obey their fathers, husbands, brothers etc. yet you do have those severe perspectives increasingly taking carry back in once extra secular or extra tolerant international locations.
