Is there a proper way to breathe when jogging?
I always get a pain on the lower left side of my stomach area after a minute or two of jogging. Is there a proper way to breathe when jogging? Anything I can do before I go jogging to lower the chance of getting this pain? Thanks!

That's very unusual. Side pain, pain like that normally comes froms spasms in your diaphragm, the muscle that controls the expansion and contraction of your lungs. When your lungs work harder than they are used to, that muscle starts to cramp up and hurt. You are either jogging too fast, or breathing irregularly. The best thing to do is to breath as normally as possible, preferably through your nose as when you breathe through your mouth, you lose control and start to gasp for air. Gasping for air is what makes your diaphragm spasm. If you're just starting a running routine, it's something you can work through and it will go away after just a few days. You should not be breathing that hard just a few minutes into jogging, though. If it doesn't go away in a few days, try starting your jog at an even slower pace. If it STILL doesn't go away, that is not normal.

make sure you stretch before every workout...when you start to get that pain in your side lift your arms like you are touching the sky then lean into the pain and then away from the pain going side to side....if you re a beginner you may need to stop and walk for a few seconds...once you build your stamina the pain should go away.

try to breath steadily at a constant rate and don't breath in too deeply. like when you start jogging, don't start breathing really quickly. at least that is what helps me.

Please see your doctor first. It is not normal to feel pain after jogging for just a minute or two.
