Doctor says I've dropped.... how long in your experience?
I'm 35 wks pregnant with my second baby. I never had the experience or people tell me that I "dropped" with my daughter, but with this baby, everyone has been telling me. Today the doctor said the baby is in place and very low. Obviously I don't want to go before 36wks at least, but for those of you who "dropped".... did you deliver your baby sooner than your due date? And how much sooner? Just curious.

Well anything can happen, but the best predictor of when the baby will come is "what happened with the first baby?" If that baby came on time, then the second will likely do the same. Anything is possible, but when the baby sits low, it more likely means how the labor will proceed rather than when the labor will occur. Any pregnancy beyond 37 weeks is full term, but most will get within a week or so of their due date.

If this is your first baby, chances are you have another 2 weeks for sure. I never had my baby drop with my first pregnancy.
I'm 16 weeks pregnant with number 2!
They say it'll take a while first time, but when the baby drops the second or third, etc, time around, go right to the hospital cause the baby will come fasssst!

It may still be a week or more. Just spend the next week with your feet up to help the baby make it a little longer. Then you can walk, walk, walk and have lots of sex. Sometimes, women drop a good month before labor, sometimes only a few days. Lsten to your doctor and make yourself stay off your feet until you cross the 36 week mark.

I dropped at 7 months which is pretty early, and I had my son at 8 months actually a day shy. Yea, once your baby drops it shouldn't be long after before you ahve the baby. It's just the baby preparing him/herself to get out!
If your 35 weeks, you should be fine.

I have no experience in this department but I'll offer my 2 cents. My first never dropped unless it happened in the last 5 hours of labor in the hospital bed as I was laying down :)
My second never dropped unless it happened in the 20 minutes it took me to go from 4cm to 10cm dialated. But it didn't happen before that. Good luck and just remember you will be holding your baby in your arms soon :)

With my daughter, my first born, I dropped right before she was born...she was born 10 days overdue. With my son, my second born, I dropped 3 weeks before he was born, and he was born right on his due date. I think it varies by person so your question may not get a straight answer. I hope that my experience may have been of some help though.
Take care and good luck

by using fact it is your third toddler, you will in all threat bypass into exertions quickly. generally the toddler in easy terms drops early on your first being pregnant. yet in basic terms by using fact your toddler dropped and exertions indications are cutting-edge does not assure you're turning out to be this toddler any time quickly. you're able to nonetheless bypass a pair extra weeks. You under no circumstances comprehend. I walked around after the toddler dropped for weeks, bloody discharge for weeks, and nonetheless ended up getting precipitated. it is all up on your toddler on whilst she or he would be able to be born. solid success.

People just like to act like they know more about your body than you do! :-) Doctors, parents, family, etc.
Everyone (drs. and midwives included) told me in all 4 pregnancies that I'd "dropped" early and that there was "NO WAY" I was going to 40 weeks. With #4 I went 41.5 weeks.
"Dropped" isn't a medical term - so don't let it bug you. It's not quantifiable like "dilated". It's a matter of opinion.
