Opinions please...?
I live with a bunch of semi-homophobic, ignorant, disrespectful college guys. I'm going to be moving out and into a much better place. Also, I'm not on the lease right now because i had kinda planned on moving out last year and had told the others months ago, but never brought up the thought of moving out again for months. My question is, should I tell them now or just move out and have them find out by seeing that all my stuff is gone and my share of that month's rent isn't in on time?

tell them as you are leaving...you don't want to appear as a coward slinking out when they are not looking...walk out with you head up...more power to you.

Tell them you are moving out then do it !!
Pay your share of the rent cos the last thing you need is to be pursued by a bunch of homophobic, ignorant, disrespectful college guys all claiming that you owe them money especially when you would ! Who knows maybe they are wanting another homophobic etc, etc.,guy to move into your room and they have been really polite about you NOT moving out when you said you would??? What goes around comes around so always treat others nicer than you would expect them to treat you ! you might be surprised !!

well you sort of have to let them know you are moving out
as for the rent and what not
but there is no time line for doing so
tell them the day or week you are moving
if you need help moving they may be the best people to help you do so being able to lift heavy this i mean
you may or may not want them to know where you go
so if i where you look find another place
tell your room mates as late as possible and go be free

Hard question. Trust your gut. It would be the right thing to tell these guys they shouldn't count on your share of the rent.
On the other hand, if they are ignorant and disrespectful, you could have a huge ugly scene.
Bummer.

If your names not on the lease I would let let find out once you're gone. Because if they get mad at you they can say get out right now & that might cause you aggrevation on where to go if you don't already have a place

midnight moving is not good. they might try to sue you for the rent, especially if you signed a lease. i'd have a respectful chat with them and try to work something out so that you can leave on good terms.. why make enemies?

Don't tell them...see how long til they notice!
(and if I was you, I'd LIE--just because I CAN--and say I moved out the week before Thanksgiving....
"Sure you saw me, I was getting my stuff, a little at a time.....I didn't have a TRUCK!"

The right thing to do would be to tell them instead of leaving them in the lurch. Think about it would you like that done to you?

You really should be honest with them. Luckily your not on the lease and not really obligated. Tell them now and let them deal with it. Like you said they don't respect you anyways. Move on and live life.
