My hubby HATES veggies. Is there any way to convince him to eat them?

MY hubby wants us to be a healthy family, but refuses to eat veggies. He's healthy in every other way, always has been. Even when he goes for a check-up, doctors say he's healthy. So he says he's healthy and doesn't need to eat them. How can i convince him otherwise?

Stubborn, picky guys like that can be so annoying.

You obviously can't FORCE him to eat them, but start baking casseroles or soups with veggies in them or something like that. He would have to be insane to not like broccoli and rice casserole, green bean casserole, etc. When you make these, though, try to use lower fat or fat free alternatives to the ingredients. Also, try replacing white rice and pasta with whole grain.

Any veg can be tasty if prepared right. Explore some recipe options. He really should make an effort, at least eat a bite or two.

Disguise them, chopped some up and put them in spaghetti sauce, put chopped broccoli into mac and cheese (he can't very well eat around it), blend some in a smoothy.

Powdered greens will help, but are not a substitute for actually vegetables.

Well, unfortunately, this is something that his parents should have done. But since they didn't, it's your job.

He needs to see the value in food nutrition. There are things in vegetables that he needs, especially spinach, tomatoes, things like that. They have antioxidants and they are also especially helpful for prostate problems.

You need to do some research and present him with some statics. Plus he needs to be a good example for the kids...they need to see daddy eating veggies too!!

Try making them different ways! My Uncle hated veggies until my aunt stir-fried them, but what he didn't know that the difference was it had garlic, onion, and a little bit of soy and duck sauce in it.

Point out the vitamins some provide: beans--vitamin B for nerve strength; beets (those packed in juice are GOOOOD!)--iron; broccoli--high in Vitamin C. Remind him that this is the only vitamin that can't be stored by his body. Vitamin pills can help, but vegetables and fruits with this vitamin are the best source.

Do you make sure he brushes his teeth before bed too? He's not your kid...if he doesn't like them ,don't offer them to him.I've never heard someone talk of their spouse this way....
