Does anyone here knows a strategy of how to motive people to work?

I have to help someone build a strategy of how to motive people to work? Do you guys have any ideas of how to motive people to work? I mean these people already have a good salary and even they will get a good bonus at the end of the year depending if they accomplish the work required, but they are not so much motivated at all. So, How can people make employees have a better attitude to do their work efficiently? and What could be a good strategy to build a positive work environment? Tell me your own experience, or things you might know that might be usefull. Thanks!

It's the manager. Get your human resource department to get a manager in there that knows what he's doing. If he can give the employee's a clearer picture of their purpose within the organization, and how important they are to the organization, then the employee's will feel that their work is important and they will be more motivated to do it. Also, you should do some research and development. I wouldn't go changing anything until you find out exactly what the problem is, create a survey, interact with the employee's find out what their unhappy with. It could be something as little as the amount of available parking spaces.

Hire a new person to replace that guy who does not do anything but bitc#e$ too much those guys or gals bring every one down. set small goals weekly or biweekly and reward the #1&2 people with a day off and tickets to a event in the area. or a day at the spa or what ever make games out of your tasks recanitchion is cool and a pizza party for the lossers at the end of the day on that day let them know that The company can only afford to do this stuff if it incresses productiveity

Have catering brought in regularly for lunch. Pizza, muffins, deli wrap-ups, anything. Or have each employee bake a birthday treats their own birthday and bring it into work. That is what my Mom's workplace is like, and she seems happy. Food is a good motivator.

find a group of people outside your company that does the same work but are being giving much props, then present this to your group and tell them that if they could do better?

not necessarily warm and fuzzy answer, but sometimes a little fear/insecurity about one's job can also be a motivator
