If you do not attend church, how could a church interest you in visiting?

I am a Christian involved in reaching people for Christ in my own community and I am genuinly interested in hearing answers to the question. It seems that for too long we have thought that no one had answers but us, so we never listened to what anyone else had to say.

You would have to somehow undo the history of Chritianity and all the other religions. These are histories of bloodshed, cruelty and hate, all in the name of god.

  • Please don't assume that just because a person doesn't go to church that they do not have a relationship with Christ. I think this is one of the reasons that a lot of people have made the decision to worship in their own way instead of going along with what an organized religion has set up for them. As for myself, there is not anything that a church could do to get me to come and "visit". I went down that road for many years. It left me wanting. I am satisfied now. It didn't take a preacher or pastor or bishop to do that for me.

Not interested. I believe and love God, but I don't like going to church at all. It looks more like a social organization to me than anything else. Spirituality is missing, cause most of the times people go to church either because they've heard it's right so they should go or because they want to give a good impression to God or whatever. Of course there are many people who express their spirituality by attending church, but this does not work for everybody.

I think you are being "real" with your question....I will try to be "real" with my answer also....I am a grown-up and fully capable of making a decision weather I will attend church or not......I did not go for the longest time...And after about 25 years I could not for the life of me remember why I quit going......Thus my family started going.....It took me less than a year to remember why....And I have not been back since.....I simply do not like the "fake"....business, money hungry end of the whole idea......God will love me at home or at church and I sure like being at home better!.....The Churches in this area have chili feeds, chicken noodle dinners, events for the kids like vacation bible school and youth groups.....I let my kids go, so they can make their own choices about stuff......There is a lady here in town who runs a low income place where people can find God, a bible, food and clothing for free.....All for free and with the help of volunteers from her Church.....I am truly sorry.....I know "Church" people feel a strong need to "save" EVERYONE....But I think the rest of us are sitting back asking "just exactly do they think we need saved from?....Them?...." and we scratch our head an go on living this wonderful life God has given us without the headache of "Church" politics!.....ss

There is a church near me called Fleming's chapel church that has wonderful children's programs and even a separate service for the younger ones so as not to disturb the adult service. I loved going there as well as my children.

Unfortunately, my husband didn't want to attend and as a result, I quit going for the constant questions of why he wasn't with me.

Sophist : So wrong, but so true! lol.

Lord, forgive me for laughing, but you know everyone goes to a going out of business sale.

I found my church when they came to me. Christmas time 2 years ago...a couple of people knocked on my door and asked us if they could help us with Christmas..presents, food ect. We said no but they insisted. I asked them where they were from and they said they were members of a church who do outreach ministry. I replied that my family didn't attend their church (assuming they made a mistake) and he said it didn't matter. The church really helped us out that Christmas. (it was our first Christmas out of the military with my husband having a new job and us a new baby) What they did really made a big impact on me. They didn't know us but wanted to help us out...that is why I have been going to this church for over a year now. They are awesome in their outreach programs.

I believe in God, but I do not believe in the church.

This is almost like "organized crime" to me....

I have not heard good things about priests lately at all....most seem to be pedophiles or steal from their congregation....

Why would I go to church ??? I have not heard a good thing about churches...so why would i be interested?

expensive daisy, this might sound unusual however the church age resulted in 1988. this is God stopped using the church(es) to unfold the Gospel of Jesus Christ. we are at latest in the term observed as the great Tribulation which precedes the 2d coming of Christ. Christ got here the 1st time through fact the Lamb of God. The nest time He returns through fact the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. in case you examine 2 Thessalonians 2 (entire financial disaster), the Lord tells us there that the Holy Spirit (God) has departed from each and all of the community church homes through fact of their continual departure from the word of God. The church homes are following "yet another gospel" which comes out of their very own minds. it fairly is idolatry! through this persevered insurrection, the Lord has allowed devil to rule in the church homes. Up till 1988, devil ought to no longer rule in the church homes through presence of God. you will possibly be able to remember from Isaiah 14:9-15 that devil's desire replaced into to be like the main intense. devil desires to rule over the completed earth. This great Tribulation will final for 23 years and could end with the 2d introduction of Christ (a million Thessalonians 4:13-18). So human beings nevertheless ultimate in the church homes are being sent a reliable fantasy that they could be condemned. God has commanded His choose or the fairly saved to flee the church homes (Matthew 24:15, sixteen). there are a number of Scriptures to ascertain this yet take a glance at Rev 18 (entire chpater yet incredibly verses 4 + 23). If there is not extra mild from a candle in the church, it potential that there is not any Gospel of Christ there anymore. whilst the Bible says that the voice of the Bridegroom (Christ) isn't any longer there, it potential Christ isn't any longer latest to shop absolutely everyone. whilst it says the there is not extra voice of the Bride heard there, it potential that each and all of the saints or choose of of God are long gone. what's left? in simple terms people who're unsaved waiting for his or her judgment. i wish this might assist you to.

there are three ways my church brings in people. music, sports, and just fun activitiys as simiple as a cook out or a movie showing. anything. the trick is to get kids to young adults to come. then they bring there parents and thats how you get familes coming. but those things should help you get started on bringing in a alot of people. but you have to be nice and not worry about numbers. be there for the people.

With all due respect let me ask you a question: How would you feel if your best friend told you that he/she couldn't talk with you any more? Instead, they have to go to a house full of strangers, only talk in a certain way, only use one person to talk to you and pay money for the privilege. Thank you for the invitation, but I believe I'll pass.
