Has anyone noticed how much poor grammar is used in Q&A's?

Yep, sher hav. Some of us are typing one-handed while holding a baby, some people are probably just wasted and bored and the others~ I agree on the education point you brought up.

Haha. I'm just kidding. Standards in which country? I'm pretty sure, as I've seen a few topics, that not only people from the United States come to this part of answers.yahoo.com. I'm not exactly sure but I guess typing on the internet is supposedly more lax than typing up a paper for your final or whatnot. It just depends on what audience you speak (in this case write) to. And finally, about educational standards. I don't think anyone has brought the educational standards lower. In fact it's supposedly getting higher, with the SAT going up to 2400 and some majors require 4 years and a quarter, and soon it's going to become 4 1/2, 4 3/4ths and so on. Education is really based on what you learn yourself. If you don't want to learn, then you just don't learn.

I think people write hastily and without much thought. Notice the poor answer quality also. That, to me, says more about the lack of desire to write well, which is a symptom of the desire to do well in other areas. Generally, quality of conversation and verbal apprehension also is low, in my experience, and yet passes for the norm, which is a societal trait and responsibility. I would have more sympathy for anyone who cannot write well than for anyone who does not, for that naturally does indicate a failure of the sytem which is charged with training and buildup of the individual in a collective capacity.

It is a very obvious indicator that the users of the Q and A's come from different countries, with different academic backgrounds, ages and typing skills. They possibly are verbalizing the questions in their heads from their original language into English with no clue how it is really spelled correctly. That they questions come out actually readable and understandable is an achievement.

Please be more patient.

Not necessarily. My mother has a master's degree in chemistry, is one of the smartest women I've ever known, and when she types, you'd think it was a 12 year old with dyslexia. As long as they don't try writing papers for school or publication the way they type here, I really don't care.

Questions are being answered, and i for one am learning something from this. Plus, i am enjoying myself.

I don't want to be critical of people who don't punctuate, or use apostrophes, or structure their sentences properly. This is an informal meeting ground for people, and doesn't mean that only people who have a certain standard of English can exchange views about things.

The purpose is being served, let's not be too critical.
