Anyone using BBT method to conceive?

Was wondering if anyone used the BBT method to conceive and were sucessful...what were your temps when you learned that you were pregnant...Mine are currently at 97.7 and according to my records I ovulated on Feb 24th...Should my temp go higher if I achieved pregnancy? or will it stay at 97.7? Thanks!

Update:

I know I wont be able to tell if I am preg or not yet, its way too early...I was just wondering about the temp changes and if it could possibly indicate pregnancy around the time of expected period...thanks!

I did with my first. It took us 3 cycles before I got pregnant. Once my temp was up, it just stayed at that level rather than dropping back down at the start of a new cycle. It's been a few years but if I remember correctly my base temp was 97.1, and then went up to and stayed at 98.0 (actually I don't know if it stayed up the whole time I was pregnant, once the test turned positive I stopped taking my temp but until I took the test it had stayed up).

I've been charting and finally after 15 months got a +.If it sticks will be another question.Everyone's temps are different, some are higher ,some lower. My usual pre-o temps are 97.2,they've been up and down between 98.7 and 98.2.A lot of things can cause a lower or higher temp.My dh has left the window open 2 nights in a row and my bbt's been a little lower. They say high temp's <over your cover> for 18 days is usually an indicator of pregnancy.Since you are only 3dpo it's too soon for you to see any pattern. Some, not all, women show a triphasic pattern on their charts, that's often a good clue but not a definitive one.Good luck.

I charted for 6 months before trying for our first 2 sons. We conceived the 1st try with both of them.

My temps went a tad higher than normal with my first pregnancy. With my second preganncy I got discouraged b/c they started to go down a bit. The went back up the day I expected my period.

Every woman and every pregnancy is different. Your temps could go higher or they could stay the same. BBT is not reliable as far as indicatiing pregnancy. You are only 3 days past ovulation so your temps won't change due to pregnancy. The only reason you chart BBT is to see the temp shift and detect ovulation. It can't really tell you anything else. Other signs, like implantation drop or triphasic patterns are not consistent or reliable.

    Good Luck!

Unfotunately, BBT measurement isn't very useful for trying to GET pregnant. The main temperature change happens AFTER ovulation, by which point it's' too late to try. It's much more helpful for couples trying to avoid pregnancy. (And can also help you determine, when you look at patterns over several cycles, when you typically ovulate.) But yes, your temp usually drops just before your period starts, so a temperature drop this morning probably means your period will start today or tomorrow.

I haven't tried it yet, but I have been reading about it. According to what I've learned your temperature should start lower then go higher during ovulation and if you get pregnant it should stay at that higher temperature. I think as long as it doesn't go lower it should mean pregnancy. Just make sure you are taking your temperature right after you wake up while you are still laying in bed, you shouldn't move or get up before taking it.
