Anyone know what is in Printer Head Cleaning Solutions?
I've been experiencing poor performance on a printer that needs to be 'cleaned' (in Maintenance Tab) 5-6 times before it prints at high quality - which uses up a lot of ink.. I was looking into the Head Cleaning Solution that is for sale on the Net and wondered if anyone knows what is in that stuff? And, could you make it yourself or something similar... thanks

oddly enough, the shop i work in uses either rubbing alcohol (ours is 70%), or we use windex. our actual cleaning solutions don't always do the trick :P

What is the brand of the printer? I have used ones for Epson & Canon (and it is a cartridge with some alcohol based cleaning solution inside so I doubt you can do it yourself: http://www.printcountry.com/products.asp?action=li...
One thing you can do is use rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth to clean your nozzles yourself

1. Iso Propyl alcohol (60%) is used for normal cleaning.
2. For stubborn head use ammonia solution.
3. Even more stubborn one try "Tri-chloro ethylene"
Note - Iso propyl alcohol is not edible.
Ammonia solution looks like simple water and consumption may be fatal.
