Help in creating a web page urgently?
I need to create a resume like webpage urgently (in a day) which should have the following simple features - Pls help in suggesting good sites
- A photo (I have a scanned jpg file)
- Feature to download a few documents like my resume (MS word file), my papers (MS Word files), other scanned images (jpegs or bitmaps).
I don't know much about html, tags etc and have never created a web page. I'm looking for simple websites where webpage creation is done easy with ample help - I heard there are sites like yahoo, geocities but can you suggest a simple site where you have created your own webpage.. Thanks a lot
The important part is to allow downloads from that webpage. I have a bunch of papers which I want them to download from that 'resume' webpage - something like "rightclick on a link to save this document".. So I guess I should upload my documents first (onto that site) and provide links to those documents on this main page...
Advance Thanks for your help !!!

Hi,
There are some web hosts that offer integrated web site builders which make it simpler for a novice to build a web site using ready made templates.
Unfortunately the websites built using these templates don't always look too good.
You don't say why you need the web site so it's more difficult for me to suggest the best solution. You might want to take a look at a service offered by atomic shops. They have a 10 day trial and you can build anything up to a full business ecommerce site if you wanted to.
You can build a site without knowing HTML in various designs and change things to suit as you go using their interface. You can build a site with over 30 different features if you want - a sign-up form, feedback form, autoresponder mailing list to send people info etc. etc.
They do charge a monthly fee, but given all they offer it's good value if you make use of more of the features.
regards
Tony

If in your shoes, and for your purpose, I would use geocities.com.
The basic (not the free) package is $10.00 to set up and $4.95 a month. Pretty cheap deal.
Please, please, please, don't put your home phone & address on your resume if you are going to post it online. In its place put Confidential but make sure you put your email address. People are continuously scouring the internet to get personal info for bad reasons.
Good luck!

If you are going to build a site for business purposes, make sure to get your own domain name. Its cheaper than you think. Here is a guide to getting started: http://www.richkahmer.com/build-a-website.html
