Some of our land is used as a solar farm. It powers our entire home as for as electric goes and several other homes near by. Now if we can only find a source for natural gas to heat our homes.

Not in Michigan. Right now, wind turbines would freeze, Solar can't work because the sun rarely shines, Hydro can't work because any rivers freeze. In other words, it's winter.

We have some wind turbines around here. Everyone whines and says the noise (you can't hear but it's there) causes like cancer and stuff. Pathetic. No one will be happy until the world is one giant desert. And then they'll whine that it's too hot.

I live in TN, alot of the power comes from the TVA through hydroelectric. Alot comes from coal as well though.

My family uses wind for our electricity here in Oklahoma. It's not standard, but it is available.

I think that the majority of the power in my town is hydroelectic. and i also want to buy one of those bicycles that are connected to a generator, that way i can watch tv without feeling guily of no workout.

no but i'd like to find 2 or 3 hundred acres to get off the grid...wait, i think tva does have afew hundred windmills in e. tn......and the majority of power not bought comes from impoundment....

Source(s): course if you're on a grid you're gonna end up with some bought power, jack....
