The only reason Democratic leadership doesn't want him impeached is

    President Dick Cheney

No - he is not impeachable unless he commits a crime while in office. Presidents, thankfully, can't be impeached simply because they are unpopular or have low poll numbers/approval ratings. I'd also say that I would not trust the remaining congressional 'leadership' - a term that I use lightly since congress has very little in the way of true leaders -as they would have, skirted the Constitution and in clear violation of the separation of powers, effected a coup. The resulting remnant of our Constitutional government would be just as wishy-washy as any other coalition government. Not to mention the fact that Jimmy Carter would have been gone, as he had the lowest approval rating of any president in history! Yep, that's right, even lower than Dubya! Of course Jimmy alienated, and was universally detested, by both his own party as well as the opposition - a truth that the biased liberal media would rather you not know! One must be wary of 'popular opinion' as promulgated by the media, since those that have all the information can bend it any way they want. Ask yourself, why, in recent years, have they wanted to influence public opinion in such an anti-American manner - you'll find the answer by following the money trail. It leads to socialists, who would change our way of life, and socialism leads only to power for the would be dictators and slavery for the rest of us.

Well, it is not a matter of opinion. Impeachment is a legal process. I doubt most of the people here know what it really is.

The law is very specific as to the list of crimes that must be committed and the intent. All that there is against Bush is a series of allegations, non of which is serious enough for impeachment. Besides, Bill Clinton did commit impeachable offences, and he was not charged with anything.

Despite what people think, there is no law against being unpopular.

I don't think he's so bad, just an idiot when it comes to public speaking.

At first I couldn't stand him, but now I see what he did as being right for the time, and right for his general ideals, it was the follow-through that didn't go over well, which he doesn't have much say in. He's a fair leader, not great, but his generals are the problem, it seems like they're fumbling all the time.

I worry more about the legacy he's leaving behind, especially how the people of the USA are viewed globally.

It is good that elections are coming up, the USA needs a new face, hopefully a minority to show that it is a developed and forward thinking nation.

Bush should not be impeached -- there are no legal grounds for it at this point.

taking bad information -- which was actually agreed upon by republicans and democrats alike, along with others in the UN -- and running with it isn't impeachable. was it a mistake? absolutely, but not worthy of impeachment.

In order to show the rest of the world that America does it's homework both Cheney and Bush should be impeached for their vile crimes against all humanity.

Let them finish out their years behind bars at Leavenworth.

Bush didn't do anything impeachable! It's been 7 years since he took office and you dummies STILL can't demonstrate he lied about anything or commited any crime.

So is THIS what's going to happen during EVERY Presidency from here on out?....a "gotcha back" for Clinton's impeachment??? So perjury is okay when the person doing it shares your political party???

Yes, GWB needs to be impeached, and Cheney with him, mostof the other rats have already fled the ship.

As I become more and more aware of our nations political structure, and how hard politicians fight to stay in office (notice I didn't say fight for our rights) I become firmly convinced we need at least one more politcal party, three more would be better.

I'm getting tired of the whole lesser of two evils thing.

No. Just because you disagree with the war does not mean you can impeach him. Especially when so many other politicians, who are now against the war, voted for it in the beginning.

impeachment is a waste of taxpayers money and time; clinton made sure of that.

I serious do not believe leadership for the good of the people exists anymore in washington.
