Pet food recall?

Is anyone else upset by the latest info on the pet food recall that included the information: 6 out of 10 test animals who were fed the food died?

Didn't what has happened in the public, to innocent pets enough to prove "something" is wrong with the food? Why do other animals have to die to prove the point?

As with so many other instances, testing on some "lab animal" (translation: unimportant/unloved) is the easy way out. In the vast majority of times, the information can be obtained through computer models or good old fashioned lab work. What has the unnecessary death of these poor test animals proven that we didn't already know?

Another case of narrow minded research. Another case of innocents being tortured. A death from kidney failure is a painful one.

I agree with you completely. To me it is just another example of corporate greed and disrespect for the animals and people who purchase their food.

I completely agree with you. I was very upset when I read that the 10 deaths menufoods mentioned were deaths sustained by animals in their research laboratories!

I know this much: I will NEVER buy petfood of any brand that has anything to do with Menufoods. In fact, I don't think I will ever buy cat food that is in the present recall list.

I am very up-set about this. I have had to call up a friend because she had given her cat a food that was on the list and she is no longer doing it. I have just found a web site for one of the foods that is on the list for the cats. It is Wegmans and it is listed under (Dog cat food recall Includes Wegman's Brand 13WHAM).com on the internet. It gives a list of the food that they took off the shelf. Put in Search Wegman's .com (dog food) and look down the list and you will find the above .

Yes, it's very unfortunate. You would think that the manufacturers would take more pride in what they are doing and realize that they're not only potentially killing an animal, but hurting the entire family emotionally. I only buy the best food for my dog.

if we don't hold people and corporation reasonable for what they do then who will.

I think the fact that pet lovers sat there and said nothing was a crying shame. you don't want your pet to die from the tainted food but it's ok to test it on other animal's to see if it's ok for yours what is wrong with the world have we all forgotten what being humane is. history says if you forget it your doom to repeat it and this world still hasn't learn what it mean to be humane.

I agree with you a 1000%. It made us all sick when we read it in the newspaper. I think though it was done outside of the US (canada I believe) where they must have different laws.

But anyway law or not law...this is just so sick. I feel so bad for all test animals!!!!

I feel very lucky none of my animals ate any of that food but it really makes me sad to think of how many animals were harmed because of this.

I am so sad! Why do they have to kill innocent animals like that?

Yes, there should be a class action law suit.
