I recently quit smoking (about 2 weeks ago) and.....?

i have a really bad cough now and my chest feels very tight. Is this normal? Is my body just reacting to not having the nicotine?

It's not uncommon, particularly if you were a relatively to heavy smoker.

Your lungs are trying to clear the tar out. You may even cough up a black/blackish phlegm.

If it doesn't go away in a few weeks, check with your doctor.

Congratulations! I think all the crap in your lungs from the smoking is breaking up and your body is getting rid of it. It's a good thing. Of course if you're coughing blood or if the cough lasts too long please see a doctor.

u'll be fine, get it checked out, its probably the massive influx of oxygen that ur body isn't used to, if it doesn't go away within a week get it checked out...

your lungs are probably just detoxing...I'd see a doctor just to make sure though
