I agree that the media does tend to play around with the facts..however; regardless of whether the marines were on Iranian sea territory or not.....the fact remains that it is an incredibly sensitive issue at this time.

Considering everything that has been happening with Iraq,Lebanon and Israell and Syria and Iran and Saudi Arabia....people in the middle east believe that Bush is looking for any excuse to go into Iran (as they did in Iraq) and while the British might not directly over-react, Bush could influence Blair into making the issue of the 15 marines even bigger than it is.....but i don't think that would leed to war...not right now anyway....

In any case, I think at this point, the Bush administration does not need any excuses if it wanted to go to war with Iran...i think they just can't afford to right now thats all.....but meantime,he will not allow any peace or ballance settle in the region...i say god help us all!!! Its like they are all kids with too much power....kids!!!All of todays leaders!!

And in response to what was said about Americans; i sincerely feel pity for Americans today; they are powerless towards a leader that has lost all his marbles and is messing everything up for them, ruining their reputation and political ties globaly with no exception. Its going to take centuries for all this mess to be cleaned up...meantime, the American people, your everyday Joe Shmoe or Jane Doe from the street will get the cold shoulder for it.....its a real shame....Americans are now going through what we Arab nations have been experiencing for the past 400 or so years, self elected leaders that take decisions for us....and where has that lead us? We went from being the ethnic group that invented mathematical numerals,algebra,poetry,science...etc...into nothing!

I agree I think that the British really entered the Iranian borders, via the waters. This is the second time they have done this, last year Iran said they had also entered their space. The soldiers dont look abused, their heads are not covered and there is no gun to their heads, unlike the other hostage situations we have seen in Iraq, Saudi Arabia etc. While this is wrong to do, in any case, Britain is prolonging apologizing and stating that they will not enter their waters again. This is arrogant, and Britain clearly thinks they are still colonizing the world and control the seas. I think they want to get more media propaganda out of this situation, so Bush can make the most of it. Britain is working so closely with America these days, who knows why. Perhaps Bush will sue this situation to prove that the Iranians are barbaric and deserve to be taught a Bush lesson.

Americans aren't stupid, we didn't declare war, our government did. I doubt that there will be a war between England and Iran, but I'm sure that there will be heavy sanctions and very serious international meetings if the soldiers aren't released quickly, it has definitely been too long already. After the Lebanon-Israel war, Iran should know that taking other countries' soldiers isn't a good idea, ever, even if the response wont be as strong.

I can't stand the sight of Bush. Believe me, most Democrats disagree with Bush's war and even some Republicans are coming around to that decision. Not only are our military being maimed and killed but so are civilians and children which makes us sick. I pray for a peaceful decision regarding the 15 soldiers. Britain needs to swallow its pride and apologize. Iran just wants to see them lose face, and since they probably were in Iran's waters, they might as well get it over with and get those soldiers home.

PS: I say put a gun in the hands of all politicians over 50 and put them in the front lines. Then see how unpopular wars become.
