On the 3.0L Taurus, not many. On the Exploder, a couple. I feel sorry for anyone trying to replace head gaskets on Exploders. The timing chains are a nightmare plus tax.

I had a head gasket problem with my 94 Taurus but I have owned 2 Explorers (92 and 2000) and never had a problem. That's just been my experience though.

I have an explorer with 150,000 miles. No problems, except with the radio.
