Why is my tattoo bubbly looking and still itchy?

I got it two weeks ago, and it's itchy as hell, and it looks alright, but a little bubbly. What's the deal here? My coworker said he may have dug too deep, but will the bubbliness go away? And what up with the itching? I got one before and it didn't itch this long. It's annoying.

Your friend is right the artist may have dug to deep. But its to late so the best thing to do is keep putting med. on it to help it heal. Dont scratch it cuz it will make the tattoo heal badly. Some tattooes might take longer to heal causing swelling and itcheness depending on your bodys skin and place. But dont worry it will swell done and the itching will stop. I have had a lot of tattoos done and only one of mine did that and it took a long time for it to stop itching. I put some healing tattoo lotion called "Tattoo Goo Lotion" it works a wonder. It helps your tattoos heal faster, stay brighter, and keeps your skin from drying out and itching. I suggest you try that lotion on your tattoo and every tattoo after that. Its the best. Thats all i use now for my tattoos.

Mine didn't bubble until almost 2 weeks after I got it. It's itchy because the skin is scabbed over and its loose. Don't scratch it... which I'm sure you know. Mine itched for about a month until finally the scab washed away on its own along with the "bubbles". I've had my tattoo for 5 years now and it looks fine. If it itches unbearably, at Wal-Mart there's a spray on aloe product, found in the sunscreen aisle, you can have the relief of aloe, and spray it on without fear of harming the tattoo.

Hey I got a tattoo a couple of weeks go too. It has healed just fine but over the last few days it has gotten lots of "bumps" on it that I can feel and it itches. This morning I took a credit card (sterilized one edge with alcohol) and dragged it across my tattoo....Instant relief. Where my artist shaved my arm the little tiny hairs were trying to come back in and were raising up little bumps. Dragging the card across the bumps let the hair free. My bumps have almost completely gone now and it doesnt itch nearly as much.

Its just going through the normal healing process. I think it all depends on where you get your tattoo. My first tattoo was on my stomach and it scabbed over and I made the huge mistake of scratching it, which only made some of the ink fall out and I had to have that part of it redone. The one on my back itched really bad (and still does sometimes years later). Like I said I think it depends on where you get it. The more fleshy areas seem to scab while the areas closer to the bone don't.

It is "bubbly" because it is still healing on the inside - this will go away. The itching is simply because the surface skin is drying and flaking off. Another 1 to 2 weeks and it will all be over - use a hand lotion.

its still healing, and the bubbly look its prob scabs. if he went in to deep with the needle you would have bruised. you could have scar tissue too. all nothing to worry about
