Is there a way to dismantle an atomic bomb? (pardon the song reference)?

Yes. How do you thing we dismantle nuclear weapons when they are obsolete or they must be dismantled due to a treaty agreement.

And yes, some weapons can be deactivated if their is enough time and someone knows how.
