Is cow's milk really "nature's most perfect food"?
I see a lot of negative press on the Internet condemning cow's milk as unfit for human consumption. Yet the mainstream press is mostly positive. Who's right?

Of course, there is a lot of misinformation, disinformation and just plain bad science on the Internet, so you have to take what you find there--including this Yahoo answers website--with a large grain of salt.
However, given that the mainstream media are now controlled by something like five corporations, it's important to realize that not everything you read in the daily newspaper is scientifically accurate. Today's mainstream science reporters have little actual background in the sciences and simply follow editorial policy. If the dairy industry is heavily involved in funding a particular newspaper--or group of newspapers--via advertising revenues, you're unlikely to get objective or impartial scientific information about dairy products.
As someone with a background in science and journalism, I've studied the dairy issue in depth for a number of years and have come to the conclusion that the safest form of milk to consume is raw cow's milk from grain fed cows, straight from the source, unpasteurized and unhomogenized. Granted, there is always a small risk of contamination from bacteria, but the closer you live to the source, the safer you are. Ironically, the store bought processed variety of milk will not guarantee safety, as there have been many cases of outbreaks of salmonella poisoning from pasteurized milk.
Regarding, the processed variety, pasteurization kills not only harmful bacteria, but beneficial nutrients. Homogenization is a process of breaking down the fat into smaller, more palatable molecules. There is some evidence this is not exactly a good thing for either our digestive system or our veins, although the evidence is far from ironclad.
If you want to read an excellent link which summarizes the dangers of processed cow's milk, see the following:

do some homework and you will see who is right-the industry and government sure arent going to tell you. As for the press, they are paid by the industry to advertise their products. If you research it, you will see that commercial milks is really nasty stuff. Commercial chocolate milk was created to hide milk that is discolored with blood. These are facts, not just my opinion. Commercial animals are fed an unnatural diet of pesticide laden grains and ground up dead animals. They are kept in horrid conditions, which means they need to be given antibiotics and steroids. All of that ends up in the milk. Here is a link with detailed information

many people are allergic to cow's milk. Quite a few Native Americans have the allergy, so from Alaska to Argentina there are a large number of people who can't drink cow's milk.

We are the only mammals that drink milk from another animal... that is gross!!!
Animals make milk to feed their babies... we make milk to feed our babies not feed other species babies so why should we drink cow's milk!? Its really kinda weird and gross if you think about it. So I try not to think about it. I drink Soy milk for this reason but I still have ice cream so its kind of a double standard on my part.
Cow's milk is yummy and gross at the same time so both media groups are right! lol
Good Luck in your quest! ;-)
