am i fertile myrtle?
ok , this sounds gross but i am going to ask it anyway. firstly , can anyone tell me when a womans fertility peaks? second , i am not on birth control right now , so its really really easy to tell when i am ovulating. at the time of ovulation i have an excess of cervical mucous. as in , when i go to the bathroom , there is at least a table spoon at any given time. does this mucous make me more fertile? the reason vi am asking is not because i am trying to get pregnant , its that i am trying NOT to.

If you don't want to get pregnant, use birth control or don't have sex.

That is called eggwhite cervical mucas and it is very friendly to sperm. Usually the vagina is acidic and kills sperm, but when you are ovulating the eggwhite CM helps propel the sperm along to the egg. Most women get the Fertile CM starting three or four days before they ovulate and during that entire time, you are fertile. Sperm can live up to five days when the conditions are right, so sex during that time can result in pregnancy. Usually with in a day after ovulation, your CM will return to its sticky state telling you that you are no longer fertile.

Yes thats about the time. Your cm changes upto 5 days BEFORE ovulation and 1 or 2 days after. Cm like this, helps the sperm "live" and "wait" for the egg. FYI, I just got prego using the withdrawl method. It took 2 1/2 yrs but it happened. Just so u know.
