If Scotland seeks Independence, will Blair or Brown move the goalposts like Thatcher did before?
Scotland did not have a vote for the Union. There will always be somebody to say that Scotland did well out of the Union. Did It? I would say England gained more, and has more to lose.

Scotts seek independance for centuries and will never give up
Declaration_of_Arbroath:

...for, as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom – for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

well i think some on here should think long term. i don't think it would do the UK much long term good to split up. its easy to get carried away with the anti English/anti Scottish thing. both countries give a lot to the union, don't just listen to the sun or some narrow minded commentators who like to stir it all up. sit and look at the facts objectively then make an informed choice. and i speak as a Scot

Declaration of Scottish Independance...Arbroath 1320.
Framed and on my wall, Aye, it sure does make the hair on the back "o" yer neck stand up. If you have the time perhaps you might put it up and let folk's feast their eye's on what the word "PATRIOTISM" means.

It would be odd if they didn't ! It would certainly be the first time.
They move goalposts about so often they have fitted them all with castors.
