What do you think?

If Jr. leaves DEI, how would you feel if he were to go to RCR and drive a black #3 Goodwrench Chevy?

As long as RCR is entitled to keep the 3, it won't be on the track unless Junior jumps to RCR. But that may be something Junior has reserved for his swansong. I don't believe he would want to run the remainder of his career in a black 3 car.

I believe Childress could get the rights (money talks) for the #8 from DEI for as long as Junior may be with RCR, so he can continue to be himself instead of his Dad.

If Teresa is lax enough to let Junior get away, why hold onto the number? She couldn't be that vindictive toward her step-son and Senior's biggest benefactor, could she?

Childress is the one responsible for giving Dale those great cars and teams that he used to put her in that big old house.

NASCAR has never retired a number and the #3 has a long and historic run. Dale was not the first to drive a 3 car and he won't be the last.

As soon as RCR discontinues operation, the number will be on the auction block.

When one considers some of the names associated with the #3, like Junior Johnson, David Pearson, Cale Yarborough, Buck Baker and the like plus the #3 has been run on virtually every make of car thats ever run, its too much a part of history.

Whether NASCAR retires the number or not, makes no difference to this lifelong Earnhardt fan as I would have pulled for him, no matter the number.

i dont understand why so many people want the #3 to be retired so badly.

sure we,as fans, relate the #3 to dale sr and dale sr only, but why sit back and not have a #3 racing.i think it would boost the moral of nascar.tyhe #3 car is a big part of nascar history.

so many fans are mad at nascar right now for rule changes, and letting toyota into the cup series.i say bring the black #3 back out on the track and let it run.

let dale jr race the car and have a good time doing it,which i am sure that he would be proud to do.

i know that if it were my fathers car # i would want to run it.i would be chomping at the bit to get behind the wheel of such a famous ride.

No. Budweiser is not going to give up Jr. They'll drop a TON of money to be his sponsor. Goodwrench would definately be a major associate maybe with a few primart races. But, Bud is 100% commited to Jr.

I don't care, but it would be better to drive a black 8.

If he goes to RCR and drive the #3 Chevy car he would be in Dale's shadow forever, and us fans would continue to compare him with Dale Sr. he needs to be himself.

If Dale leaves Bud goes with him. I don't think he would want to race his fathers car. He's daddy was a legion and no one could ever be him. I don't think he would want that to have to live up to for the rest of his life. He is his own person and that is what makes him Dale Jr.

Thats not Jrs call yeah it would be nice if Jr drives the #3 car,

but it will be difficult for him.

I love Dale to death. But he has even said many times, "I'm not my Father". He doesn't even like to be called Jr anymore. He prefers to be called Dale!

    That is his name!

But yes, the fans need to give it a rest! He is his own person and he will never be as good as his dad was.

That is a good assumption, but if the #3 did come back I don't think it would be black.

That's all I have to say about that.

he should leave dei and get a real job because he cant drive and hanging there is a waste of time and TV film. the guy is just a big waste of space and air

  • That'd be a great site. Enough to bring a tear to every NASCAR fans eye I think...
