The Ohio Street Beach is walkable from Michigan Avenue (it's at the end of Ohio Street) and it's open all year around, although it's a bit cold at the moment. Same with North Avenue Beach, just north of Michigan Avenue, at the lake.
As far as food that you can only find in Chicago - well, I'm not sure that exists anymore, but in terms of the best Chicago food experiences, I'd suggest deep dish pizza at Lou Malnati's or Giordanos. As for breakfast places, I'd recommend the Bongo Room (try the one at Roosevelt and Wabash, the wait is less long than the other one), Orange, Lou Mitchell's, or Yolk.
Dinner - well, depends on what kind of food you like. There's so much. You might try chicagoreader.com and click on restaurants - it'll lead you through neighborhood, type, and cost. And don't go to Dave and Busters. You can do that anywhere. If you want my opinion of the best dinner place in Chicago, it's an Italian restaurant called RoseAngelis, on Wrightwood Street.

Oak Street beach is on Lake Michigan a few blocks east of Michigan Avenue. Depending on where you're staying, you can walk there. Mike Ditka's on Chestnut near Michigan Avenue is great for breakfast and so is Clarke's on North Lincoln Avenue next to the Biograph theater. Portillo's is my favorite for Italian beef. There are several locations in town. Flukey's is my favorite for Chicago-style hot dogs, but Superdawg drive-in on North Milwaukee Avenue just south of Devon is also very good. Giordano's and Lou Malnati's are the best places for Chicago-style pizza. The Fudge Pot on North Wells Avenue in Old Town is THE place for ANY kind of fudge. The White Palace on Canal at Roosevelt, not too far from Soldier Field, is a primo diner-style restaurant. And for sheer unexpected fun while dining, Ed Debevic's on North Wells Avenue is great. Of course, your opinion and that of others may differ from mine. Have fun!

Why only one? start up at Foster, lease a motorbike and experience south. you may get all a thank you to o.ok.highway, it is probable the main widespread coastline, as that's at contemporary north of the Michigan highway identifying to purchase mecca.
