Good hair color?

I have naturally red hair, and I don't really like it. Everybody expects redheads to be fiery and mysterious. I'm clumsy and cautious, and I read like an open book. I get a lot of comments from people who don't know me that well like, "Aren't redheads supposed to be bold?"

I'd like to dye my hair dark, but I'm worried it wouldn't look right. I have the typical pinkish redhead complexion, and I'm literally physically unable to tan. How dark could I go and still look natural?

I am a red head also and i would like to suggest one thing to you before you go dark. Go to a salon, one that you trust and get blonde highlights! I know it may sound strange, but i loved mine after i did it. Everyone always told me not to touch my hair, that it was so beautiful, blah blah! But i needed to do something, i felt the urge to change it. We dont look good with dark hair, trust me, i have done that also. If your complexion is light then go for the light blonde highlights and i am sure you will like it. At firts it will seem a little bold, but after a few days when all the color has been washed, you will realy like the way it looks. The blonde mixed with the red makes for a nice combination and it will look natural, not dyed! Good luck!

I think if u wanna change colour go lighter. Get blonde foils or streaks so the red fades into the background.

If u really wanna go darker, dont go far or it will look totally fake. Maybe a dark blonde/ v. light brown

Medium brunette would look quite striking on your complexion, but by no means go for black -- it'll look fake and harsh. It would be what they call a medium warm brown. You'll want warm because it'll keep the red tones in your hair, which will ensure a match with your complexion. :)

Someone with naturally red hair is hard to get their hair dyed well. I suggest that you have it done professionally. yes it is going to cost more, but you want it to come out right and not look streaky. Red is the hardest color to deal with, either coloring over it or getting your hair dyed. Here you are trying to get rid of it and I spend a fortune to get mine dyed red every few months, and believe me it's not an easy color to keep. I'll trade you.

Once you dye or bleach your hair it will never be the same quality. If you have to, have it done professionally. I know from experience and now am trying to grow out my own healthy hair.
