If I call myself a fideist, what does that mean?

Go ahead and use a dictionary, especially the ones who gave me thumbs down on an earlier question.

It means that you think logic has no part in faith. It's still vague, because that is something I have found both atheists and Christians believe.

In my opinion, fideism seems somewhat arbitrary. However, I do think there is some value in a more fideistic approach to faith when viewed against the modernistic conceptions of faith spawned by the Enlightenment.

I think you are right that I was needlessly offensive in what I said in my former post. Even if the ideas which underlie my comments are notions which I believe are true, I think they can be articulated in ways that are more sensitive to Catholics and others who might have been sensitive to my comments. Words like "pagan" tend to carry a derogatory connotation. And so I want to ask you for your forgiveness. I have edited my former posts. Thank you for pointing it out to me.
