I have had a toyota camry and a few ford cars. I would stay away from Ford and this is only because of my experience. One I bought had engine problems within a few months the other had a bad alternator right after driving off of the lot and the dealer gave me a hard time about fixing the problem so I had to fork out more cash. I had a Toyota camry and totally recommend anything Toyota because they drove the car right to my work and filled it with gas and when I went back to the dealership they filled it again and washed the car. I didnt have any problems with the car either and it was really great until someone side swiped me. I have a small family me my wife and daughter but plan to expand my family so we are strongly looking at the v6 4runner which gets around 22mpg not to mention you will have plenty of room for grocerys and going on long trips and it will outlast the malibu and alot of other cars. You can also get it in four will drive for bad road conditions which is really great. edmunds.com also list it as one vehicle that holds its value the most overall. Also just a note whenever you shop for a car make sure they dont charge you for useless extras like seat protector spray coating or under car rust proofing it already comes on the car from the manufacturer but some dealerships try to get away with selling it and it can tack on an extra $300 or so. The other thing is make sure you dont see a clause in the final contract that you will sign that says "annual percentage rate subject to change" That means your percentage rate is pending and they can up it on you. It usally doesnt happen but once you sign you cannot win in court I have seen it happen.

I agree on the Chevy Malibu. If you can wait before buying the 2008 Malibu will have a much more attractive body style. I also highly recommend the Pontiac G6 Sedan. The rear seat leg room is very impressive on the G6. Both are quality General Motors vehicles with good warranties and strong safety ratings at prices much lower than Nissan Altima and other import midsize sedans.

Toyota Camry, for the reliability and quietness. Good enuff room for family of 4. They are the #1 selling Family sedan for decade in America.
For SUV wise, get something like the toyota Rav4
If you have a lot of money, get something like BMW 5 series or Lexus RX series SUV.
If you dont like Toyota or honda's car, I heard the Ford Fusion is pretty good. It made it into the bracket of "most reliable car" alone side with the Camry. It is also comfortable and roomy.

This depends. If you want a van and if your budget allows, the Toyota Sienna is very nice. The Honda Odyssey also is a nice van w/o looking like the typical minivan. If your looking for a sedan with some room maybe a nissan maxima. good luck.

Dear Malhotra
Usually all vehicles have 3 segments, light, medium and heavy. You have to see your budget then go for it. For the family of four persons
in light segment Maruti 800 STD and Alto are the best option.
In medium segment i would suggest to have "Getz" or "Zen Estino or Wagon R"
In heavy segment Honda Civic, Honda City, Maruti Balano, Tata Indica are the best.

There are a lot of cars between M800 to RR phantom for four, so decide your budget and requirements, then you will get a clear picture.

If you requirement on road for long driving go for diesel car Tata Indiaca is good. Otherwise petrol car Hundai Santro is good.
