Does anyone really like Bare Minerals foundation? It's supposed to be good for your skin but it's expensive.

My mother wears it and it actually looks awesome on her. She has had some facial surgery for skin cancer and Bare Minerals does the trick in covering the scars. She even looks flawless in pictures these days. It's amazing... however I tried it and it looked awful on me!! It made my pores look so much larger than they really are. I think it just depends on your skin type.

I would suggest finding a store like Sephora and having them put some on. When I try a new makeup... I go in and have the girls working there apply the makeup that I am considering buying, then tell them I am going to go shop some more and see how if feels and wears during that time. If I like it and it feels good... I go back and buy it!

I have just switched to a mineral foundation and am loving it! I was advised to go for an american make called Colorlab which is even better than Bare Essentials because colorlab customer makes the product in front of you to EXACTLY match your skin tone and colour.

The last foundations I used were Bobbi Brown, Revlon and Chanel..I just got sick of that heavy feeling and looking too made up. The mineral one is much better and light..all it is a light powder..it also helps in healing those time of the month pimples!

I'm someone who spends a lot of money on her skin and I wanted to switch to a lighter product which would not harm my skin. I still use MAC studio finish concealer, SPF 35 for my undereye area because it is superb..but it blend well with my mineral powder.

I'm not a scientist but I do hop what they say about Mineral Foundation is true…how good it is for the skin. Either way, it gives a beautiful and natural sheer finish.

At Colorlab, you can have your foundation of choice, (liquid, loose or pressed mineral powder),

matched perfectly to your skin tone, right at the counter.

Mineral powder foundations are made of silky micronized minerals with

natural healing properties that beautify and protect the skin. Colorlab Active

Powder Additives allow you to customize your foundation with

treatments for your specific skin condition. Talc-free, fragrance-free,

    dye-free and non-comedogenic.

You can also get liquid mineral foundations from them which are infused with rich botanicals…of

Calendula, Linden, Roman Chamomile, German Chamomile, Cornflower

and St. John’s Wort, Lady’s Mantle, Horsetail, Pomegranate, Ginko Biloba,

and Milk Thistle… to nourish and fortify your skin.

Whichever mineral makeup you try, I am sure it'll be good!

    Good luck x

I think Bare Minerals is a wonderful foundation. It's great for the skin because it allows it to breathe. It also blends better and allows you to adjust the coverage. It is expensive, but if you shop on eBay you can get it for less and some of the eBay sellers have made their own which is a lot less expensive. You can also buy sample sizes on eBay so if you don't like it, you haven't spent a fortune.

I really love its foundation and mineral veil, it just feel super light on skin and I have never felt this good with any foundation else. You can check the source on the list of items from bare escentuals and my reviews.

I agree, Bare Minerals, is pricey but I get good results with it. It feels very light and covers well (I have combination skin with a few scars). However, I do not use the skin rever-upper (it comes with the starter kit) because it irritates my skin. Otherwise, I've had fewer breakouts with this product.

I use it, I love it, it is expensive, but to me really worth it. I don't have bad skin, or big pores, I'm young... no wrinkles. I like it because it gives me smooth natural coverage, doesn't feel icky on your face hours down the road. It really does last a long time too. If I were you, I'd give it a try.... if you buy it from QVC and you don't like it, you can return it within 30 days and they'll refund your money.

  • Mary Kay has loose powder and pressed powder and is comparable to Bare Minerals for a lot less.

My friend uses it and swears its the best. I have to agree that her skin looks really great. Plus, foundation is important it goes directly on your skin and spending a decent amount of money can defintely be worth it.

Everyday minerals is cheaper and it actually is ONLY minerals, Bare minerals uses bismuth as a filler and that is irritating to many women's skin. www.everydayminerals.com

It sucks! I bought that stuff from Ulta expecting that it would do wonders for my complexion. First, it basically highlights the pores on my cheeks. Second, it's thick looking and doesn't give a natural, no-makeup look at all. Third, it made both me and my mom breakout! It's not worth it, honestly.
