Of the three, I'd go for Manhattan Beach, although the King Harbor area has a few more restaurants. Manhattan has a much better beach.

The area is safe enough at night, as long as you be careful and be aware of your surroundings. Stick to well-lit areas, preferably with a lot of people.

Isn't being at the beach it's own reward? There are a number of restaurants and clubs in each of those areas. Ask at the hotel where you are staying. i have always liked the Cheesecake Factory, myself.

    Have fun!

Marina Del Rey.....Redondo.....hard choice. Two different types of cities. Marina is more upscale and Redondo is more kick back. Huntington would be nice for singles.

I think there might be more action at Marina Del Rey. I like the Cheese Cake Factory too, they have great food, but I've never had cheese cake there..LOL

I'll speak up for Orange County and offer Laguna Beach, which is safe and has literally hundreds of restaurants. If you come during the summer, their are a number of art festivals going on.

check out the surf stand on the sea coast and take a lesson. verify you pass to Duke's Canoe club for a happy-hour kind atmosphere and impressive Hula Pie... Moose McGillicuddy's (sp??) is a relaxing dance spot, and there's a great number of paying for. opportunities are high you will meet human beings putting out on the sea coast. attempt to be social as you on no account understand what varieties of relaxing activities others have happening. you additionally can get observed via a funky team. shop your eyes open (yet don't be too trusting and don't depart your $$ on the sea coast) and additionally you will possibly be able to fulfill some great human beings. do no longer provide human beings your room # in case you may help it. you merely on no account understand. I tremendously propose finding out the North Shore. it incredibly is somewhat laid back and sluggish... extra like a real trip than social gathering-city Waikiki. there's a team of homeless people who stay on the sea coast below a cover of willow timber (very cool) and there's a flock of rogue kin parrots that regularly perch there... you may regularly hear them asserting issues their former vendors taught them... reliable for thoughts. merely in case it extremely is not obtrusive, do no longer purchase weed there. i are conscious of it extremely is the factor to do in Hawaii, yet mainlanders will positively get ripped off. reliable good fortune, and have relaxing!!!

I think you'll be fine with any of them. They all have large single populations.

One caveat, MDR is right under the flightpath of LAX. Unless you're hearing impaired, you may want to avoid that one.

manhattan is a bit more sophisticated, plus it's next to hermosa, which has a very lively pier with good night life.
