I think it is because you have ignorant people raising ignorant kids. If kids have most of there personalities by the age of five, then it is safe to say that who ever is raising them is there primary influnce. In america, you are free to believe what you want, but why do they have to be free to teach it to innocent kids?

My example for this would be the Virginia Tech shootings. When that happened, every single news channel shut down and was covering the same footage. 32 American college students were killed, this warrants 24/7 coverage.

Nobody paid any attention to the equally innocent Iraqi men, women and children slaughtered the same day.

Why?

The American college students were part of Us. The Iraqis are Them. Us and Them don't like each other much.

I can't tell you why people still feel that way unless they are comparing countries based on economics, etc.. That could be turned into a race issue if a certain country is filled with people of one particular color over any other.

I don't see nationalism as quite the same thing as racism unless you are talking about something closer to fascism.

Not sure what questioned you answered man. I don't think any race is superior, but I'll definitely help a friend, a relative or a countryman before I help someone else. You can only do so much, and it makes no sense ignoring the needs in your own personal life.
