My 6 year old does the same thing. She has for many years. Our dentist told us that with baby teeth that it is not a concern but if she continues after baby teeth that she may need a sleep guard. My lil girl grinds hers worse when she is really tired and have found out that if she stays on routine (bed 8pm- up at 7am) she does not grind as bad or sometimes at all. I would say use your judgment if you feel that there is a problem go to dentist. Chances are she will out grow it but if not your dentist can help.

Talk to the dentist during her next dental appointment. I grind my teeth and need to wear a night guard. I'm not sure how it affects children.

It is a normal thing that happens! Both my girls did this and sometimes still do in their sleep(6 yrs old and 9 yrs old). Your child will out grow it when he gets older. If your really worried about it ask a pedatric dentist about what they think! But I wouldn't worry!! As long as they do not do this while awake! If they are doing this while awake as well I would get them to a dentist because it can cause damage to their back teeth!!

Next dental visit tell the dentist. They have mouthpieces that are worn while sleeping to help with teeth grinding.

I would definitely bring it up to the dentist....Grinding can cause lots of problems, and at 6 it could be a problem.

I would take her to the dentist. There are special night guards (kind of like a retainer) that can help prevent her from wearing her teeth down.

My 7 year old did that a few years ago, I asked my dentist what to do and he said not to draw attention to it, just keep an eye on it, and they usually stop it on their own. He did!
