Why can't this ADM figure out how to disperse Aid to the Katrina victims without red tape hang-ups?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/artic...

NINETEEN month's since the tragedy occurred and only a QUARTER of the Aid that is sitting there has been doled out!!

How would like to be challenged with survival for TWO YEARS without any help?

Some of the funding has finally reached educational institutions and is beginning to be dispersed, yet the majority lies tied up in a beauracracy that can't figure out how to spend the money. The fact is, those agencies that have been chosen to dole out aid are doing so, but only after they take a chunk for Administrative costs. Profiting from this tragedy-inexcusable. The Bush-Clinton Foundation got their 25 million. Red Cross--25 million and of course a group of 10 Faith based organizations that have failed to achieve any of their goals received a chunk of millions too.

Haliburton and Blackwater got their money--why can't the victims get theirs too?

Why are the "victims" still getting free housing? It's been 19 months! Get off your dead a*sses and do something. I did not adopt any Louisianans.

EDIT: Andy G makes a great point. Why is it that the folks along the Gulf Coast in Mississippi and Alabama are in a rebuilding boom, and the people in Louisiana still waiting around with hands outstretched?

You have to be joking or trolling. All administrations are like this. Plus, if you still need a handout this long after the disaster, maybe you should be put to sleep. Most of those sitting on their butt with their handout now, had that hand out in NO before Katrina ever came around. Time to put a giant pile of smoking horse flop in the hand and tell them to find a job or starve.

Being from the Mississippi Gulf coast region I challenge you to provide facts and stop listening to the democrat losers that failed in the state of Louisiana. Come on down and see the proof for yourself.

Check out the party of Mississippi, it is a republican governor that stepped up to the plate, and did not whine and cry like our neighbors to the west See the obvious difference!!!!!

And what is wrong with their local goverment down there???? Mississippi, Alabama, and even Florida hasn't had the 'problems' New Orleans has. I'm so sick of their mess and inablibilty to even try to take care of themselves and instead blame it on everybody else. Clean up their crooked politicains and it might help. The Mississippi Gov. even said right on tv shortly after that this was going to happen because of the crooks in the LA goverment!!!

"How would like to be challenged with survival for TWO YEARS without any help?"

I've been "challenged with survival" without any help ever since I moved out of my parents' house . That's kind of the point, isn't it? Personal responsibility....ever heard of it? It's not like these people are lost in the desert or stranded on a deserted island. Life has many setbacks. Live with it....or don't.

Katrina wasn't a 'war' - it was a natural disaster.

Katrina wasn't of any interest to the profit mongers and oil barons who want to steal all of Iraq's OIL.

Katrina only affected the lives of (mostly) poor people, and (mostly) black people, who have no power or influence.

Katrina victims don't deserve the TRILLIONS of dollars George W. Bush spends on an illicit, unconstitutional, and illegal war that benefits his wealthy friends.

Katrina victims aren't as important as the Bush buddies who have made BILLIONS of dollars in PROFITS since he started his little "skirmish-in-the-sand". -RKO- 04/29/07

This is why we conservatives dislike red tape. Large bloated bureaucracies do the opposite of what they are created to do. Liberals want to expand them, conservatives want them eliminated.
