Is it time to stop putting a Republican in the driver's seat?
In George Tenet's new book, he described the invasion of Iraq as looking like a " .... slow-motion car crash."
In view of this, isn't it more appropriate to let the other party have a go in the driver's seat?
So many voters caused this "highway piled up" that has resulted in thousands dead and maimed.
It's time to re-evaluate the leadership capabilities of the GOP.

Yes, voting a Republican into the White House is like choosing an extremely drunk person to drive the car pool.

Largely it will depend on the nature of the Republican. The foundations of the conservative argument were founded in small government and individual work and accountability. (Made in the late 1800s).
Unfortunately, the Regean model of the Republican Party has created a big government conservativism that is remarkably similiar in some respects to Nazi Germany. Strong emphasis on militarism. Denouncing any dessent from their camp as at least seditious if not out right treason, but unlike the Nazis, the Regean Republicans have decided to hide their Nixon-like paranoia and evilness with the covering of the earlier conservative argument and claiming to make the government smaller. Bush cut taxes to "make the government smaller", yet his administration boasts the largest government in American history. And these Republicans are slowly becoming even more extreme then Regean himself was, which is frightening.
If we elect Republicans, it needs to be more along the lines of Eisenhower (who in his fairwell address said, "beware the military industrial complex.") or at least more moderate and willing to bend and work with Democrats.

What about the Clinton administration car crash. Oh, wait, Clinton had his seat belts on and he never drove over 55.
No wonder I can't go have dinner at Windows on the World. Think of all that wonderful wine that was lost in the collapse, what a travesty. Those damn republicans are completely at fault when it comes to terrorism and Tenet is completely innocent when it comes to tying intel together from the past and the current law enforcement communities.
How dare us expect Mr Tenet to go beyond his job description and act like a patriot instead of an over paid and over glorified civil servant.
He's got a nice chunk of change to retire on now, and it's all at the expense of his lack of leadership.
I'm glad your impressed with him, I'm not.

Ummm - it does not matter the party. You (We) need to vote the proper person into office. The right person who will lead this country and the rest of the world, in the proper direction!
Dems seem to want to give up on things - Reps seem to want to have a hand in things (Yeah, hit the down arrow if you're a wimp).
Did you vote in the last election? Did you vote in any election in the recent past?
We, (you and I) as citizens of this great country are in the drivers seat, no one else!
Our choices now, reflect the outcome which will follow.
Do not blame this party or that party. Blame ourselves!

By the time Bush leaves Washington, Repubs will have held the White House for 20 of 28 years. Look at where our debt is. That should answer your question.

Haven't studied much American History? In the history of this nation, there is a pendulum effect. Things will swing to one side for a while, when people get fed up, it swings to the other side. Almost like watching a tennis match. The same effect can also be observed in the nation's concentration on domestic issues, and global issues... back and forth it goes. Even if a Dem gets in, I guarantee within 8-12 years, there will be another Republican. And then back to Democrat, etc...

Everyone wants to make some money writing a book.
Heck no, Republicans may surprise you in the next
election and WIN once again, especially after looking
at the new candidates running for election on the
liberal side. Whew! What a bunch of wimps.

Nope.
George Tenent is WRONG.

Yeah it is, but, I'm not exactly seeing any decent democrats running either, Edwards is the only one I'd vote for in the primary, if he don't win it, then I won't vote in the presidential election, not that it matters, our vote doesn't actually elect the president anyhow, the electoral vote does, anyhow have a good night.

If we have a democrat in the drivers seat you can bet
your bottom dollar that it will be an ejection seat so he
can get the h**l out of there when things start to go bad
Dems have a donkey for a mascot because they are
