Are white men afraid of black women?
Many of my male white friends date other women out of their race like asian or hispanic but not black women. I also have white male friends who find many black women attractive or they secretly like them but they won't apporch them. Is this because they are afraid of black women or are they just afraid there going to get rejected because they think black women won't date white men?

I'm white and I find most black women attractive..but never really ask them out until last month when I was invited to a birthday party and I saw one of the black girls who attends my univ. and we made serious eye contact then I finally asked what was her major and she told me bio-chem. and from there we pretty much talked and laughed all night! Now we are dating and I couldn't be happier!
I think it's just a time and place for everything...and that was our time.
Hope I helped.

I very own a relationship provider and perform one which is basically for white women people who like black men and vice versa. definite they do like one yet another, not sure why there may well be an intimidation factor. all of it comes right down to selection, and acceptability. There are nonetheless some small minded places that don't opt to work out couples of diverse races relationship.

The truth is....that black woman would prefer not to date white guys because of comments directed back at them from their own families. But.....in recent years....with a very negative attitude of black women in their late 30s about the "winners" out there in terms of black guys....they are rethinking their logic.
Satisitcally....alot of the black women in their 40s and single....are fairly educated and want the same in any man they date. So they also find that the more educated single guys available....are white guys.
Finally...life has become a bit more complicated now in 2007...compared to 1980. The magic formula for picking a successful guy for a successful date....involves 20 different factors now, when in 1980 it might involve three factors (is he single? Does he look ok? and Can he dance?) The small group of guys you funnel yourself down into....can only be increased if you consider white guys. Its pure math now. The more chances...the better your situation.

I think there is a lot of intimidation. It all has to do with the stereotypes surrounding black women, like the first answerer mentioned.
My boyfriend is white, and I would definitely say that he not afraid.
Tell them to take a chance, if he's in to her or he thinks she's pretty. He should approach her like he'd approach any other girl. The possibility of rejection is still the same.

The truth is, no one likes to admit it, but people that are race consicous, not rascist, but see skin color and not other people as humans, stereotype black women. We are sterotyped as loud, obnoxious, overbearing, women. So yes, chances are they are scared of rejection. But, if you don;t judge a book by it's cover you can end up with the fairy tale life. My sis is married to white guy and my brother is married to white girl and they have great lives all because they see through color lines.Try to coach them who knows you may be in the wedding!
