Is Professor X the ultimate bad guy?

My husband seems to think that he is, but I argueed against it since one of our friends who's an avid comic reader said he wasn't. I was told to prove it, I honestly don't know where to look. So, is Prof. X the ultimate bad guy or is this just something he dreamed up?

Update:

Also in addition he thinks Xavier had the hidden agenda to destroy all humans.

The Prof does have a dark side... something he represses.

Your husband might be remembering "Onslaught"... which was an entity that was formed from Xavier's vast psionic powers and Magneto's mind's influence on those repressed emotions and darkness. See below for a more complete picture of how Prof X could be the "ultimate villian".

We all have our dark sides or our dark moments, when we do things that either turn out to be wrong or that we know are wrong and we don't have the strength in the particular moment to resist. Professor X's efforts to help mutants, gain acceptance for mutants in the wider world of earth's intelligent beings, and help prevent destruction by people we would generally perceive as "bad" all mean that he has a considerable good side. Considering his good side, I don't know how someone can argue that he is the ultimate bad guy. But even if you concentrate on the destruction he can unleash when his bad side (Onslaught) is unleashed, that's kind of like saying that Superman is the ultimate bad guy in the DC Universe because of the potential effects of black kryptonite (which alters his personality and makes him immoral). Those situations (Supes with black Kryptonite and Prof. X emanating Onslaught) aren't normal for those characters, so it seems a stretch to call them the ultimate bad guys just because of bad situations.

the professor has done some terrible things. like repress the memories of his x-men to forget the third summers brother. but nevertheless his intentions has always been good or for the betterment of the human and mutant relationship. and in the marvel universe he is the martin luther king jr of mutants. right now he's powerless due to the scarlet witch and he is being tortured by the third summers kid in the middle of the shiar galaxy and thrown into the mKran crystal.

and other then the onslaught saga if you pick up any xmen, new xmen, new mutants, old or new comic or cartoon or movie you should be able to prove that he is a good guy.

Magneto and Xavier--the two close pals to the actual--the two needed the comparable element: international attractiveness of Mutants. Xavier sought a diplomatic concepts-set, one that called for human beings to open-mindedly understand Mutants; Magneto chosen a extra robust violent concepts-set, one threatening human beings. This pivotal element is the region Xavier and Magneto chop up as one yet yet another's nemsis, rather of organic and organic out-genuine enemies. Magnetos allies and co-patriots have been violent baddies....which Magneto had a time controlling, at the same time as getting his "message" out. Magneto wasn't a killer---do basically now no longer press him to harm you.
