Okay... recruits stencil their names on all their uniforms; when they are issued !! Though they are not visible when worn on working-dress and dress uniforms. Plastic Name-tags are nominally the responsibilty of the Permanent Duty-Station.

Since NO Navy member should be wearin their working uniform (Dungarees) off-base, you won't see a name on a recent graduate!!

I went thru boot-camp in 1985, and ONLY the Recruit-Company-Commander got a name-tag for his dress uniform.

I went thru Aircrew Candidate and Rescue Swimmers School, my A-School (AW), SERE, Advanced Acoustics, and the Fleet Replacement Squadron (HSL-41)... a grand total of 14 months... before reaching my PDS (HSL-43).

HSL-43's policy was to ONLY issue the plastic name-tags to E-4 and above !! So it was TWO years before I got my first name-tag.

I still have them all... HSL-43, FASOTRAGRUPAC, USS Kitty Hawk, HS-6, USS Stennis

Well in case your dad is within the Navy, he must have a quantity he can name. They will first Verify he's within the Navy earlier than giving out logon data. All of those web sites require you to have a identification and password to go online. If he has this, then whilst he's logged in pass to Personnel and he can uncover out this data.

I never got a name plate when I was in boot camp, After I got into the fleet One of MRs made name plates for the entire crew , but it was always an optional thing. We never wore them with our dress uniforms only our service uniforms.

The navy doesn't issue name plates. I don't know why, but they don't. In fact, unless you are in the working blues/whites (the unform with the button down shirt and tie, as opposed to the dress whites and blues that use a jumper top and hankerchief.), you wouldn't wear them anyway.

Recruits don't get Name tags or plates. They just stencil 'em on their clothing. once they hit A school they will be given name plates.

Which uniform? Name tags are on working uniforms, on dress uniforms it is optional.

Usually, you don't get a nameplate until you arrive at your first command, since most nameplates in the Navy also display your command.
